Is it usual to have headaches and/or nausea during SIBO treatment?Updated 7 months ago
Killing off bacteria in the presence of a leaky gut means that there can be an increase of bacterial fragments (gram-negative lipopolysaccharide / LPS) entering the body. This can give you headaches or nausea or just generally make you feel feverish. It is a normal part of the treatment process.
Our recommendation is to stay hydrated and use simple over-the-counter analgesia (painkillers) until it settles.
